1.Electric power cable safety monitoring

Cable are very common in daily life and production field. A lot of cables usually been put together in power plants, substations, factories, laboratories. As people become more dependent on electricity, more and more cables are being used in power plants and substations. As a result, the probability of fire accidents also increases. In case of cable fire occurs in thermal power plant, it will cause serious damage. Most power plants and substations currently under construction and operation still use flammable cable, so cable fire prevention is particularly important.

        With the development of fiber optic temperature sensing technology, it has already been able to detect temperature, electric current, electric voltage, magnetic field and so on. The sensing fiber that fiber optic temperature sensor adopt have features like compact size, light weight, simple structure, easily use, high pressure and temperature resistance, anti-electromagnetic interference. 2、Petrochemical field safety monitoring

For a long time, our country lack of effective long-term monitoring equipments and monitoring tools for the national energy reserve facilities, such as oil, natural gas pipelines, oil depot and so on. Besides, the monitoring equipment is relatively backward and the detection point is not continuous. There are other shortcomings such as not precise positioning, can not forecast hazards in advance, high false alarm, etc. Since 1949, there has been registered by more than 3000 onwards fire, explosion, oil spill accidents occurred in oil storage and transportation. These two accidents resulted in eight 5000M3 steel tanks and unloading stacks and other buildings outside of tank set being burned.

 

3、Solutions

Distributed fiber optic temperature warning system is a kind of high-tech product which use this technology for real-time measurement of spatial temperature distribution. It not only has the advantages of ordinary optical fiber sensor, but also has the ability of distributed temperature sensing at various points along the fiber. Fiber is both a medium for transmitting information and sensors for distributed measurement. It is possible to continuously measure the temperature distribution along the fiber.
